Frequently Asked Questions

Specialty Infusion therapy is the administration of medication directly into the bloodstream through an IV or injection. It is used to treat a variety of chronic conditions where oral medications are not effective or not an option. All infusion treatments at City Infusions are prescribed by your physician and administered by our trained nursing staff.

Your healthcare provider submits a referral to us. Once we receive it, our team verifies your insurance benefits, obtains prior authorization, and contacts you directly to schedule your first appointment. Patients do not need to schedule on their own.

Appointments are scheduled by our team after a referral has been submitted by your provider and insurance authorization has been completed. If you have questions or need to get in touch, please use our Contact Us page or call us at (703) 375-9577.
Wellness IV services are not offered at City Infusions. For hydration, vitamin infusions, and other wellness-focused therapies, please visit our affiliated wellness provider: Prime IV Hydration & Wellness in Vienna/Merrifield.

We accept most major commercial insurance plans. Our team will verify your specific benefits and coverage before your first visit so you know what to expect. We do not accept United Healthcare and Medicaid. See details on our Insurance Page

When you arrive, our team will welcome you and get you settled in a comfortable treatment area. Your nurse will review your treatment plan, answer any questions, and begin your infusion. Depending on your medication, treatment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. We provide comfortable recliners, Wi-Fi, and complimentary refreshments.

We administer therapies for autoimmune conditions (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn’s disease, Psoriasis, Lupus), Neurological Conditions (Multiple Sclerosis, CIDP), Immune Deficiencies, Iron-Deficiency Anemia, and more. Visit our Conditions We Treat page for a complete list.

Some therapies are administered as a single course, while others are given on a recurring schedule based on your condition and treatment plan. We coordinate each visit and maintain communication with your provider to ensure care is consistent and well-managed.
